OUR STAFF

THE ELDERS

North Orange Christian Church, desirous of following the New Testament pattern of leadership in the church, is an elder led congregation. The paid staff, including the Senior Minister and Associate Ministers, are given tasks delegated by the elders in order to ensure that the policies of the elders are carried out. The Senior Minister is an ex-officio elder, meaning he is part of all elders' meetings (except those involving the discussion of his own evaluation) and interacts with the elders in the discussions and studies they undertake. However, he does not have a vote in the actual decisions that are made.

CALLIE COE - ON MATERNITY LEAVE
ccoe@nocc.org

CURRENTLY ON MATERNITY LEAVE.
Please contact Dianna Sundell (Interim Director of Children’s Ministries) at dsundell@nocc.org or
Sara Hughes (Interim Assistant) at
shughes@nocc.org.

My name is Callie Coe and I’m an Orange County native! Currently, I live in the city of Orange with my wonderful family—my husband Ben (married since July 2016), our daughter Edynn (born April 2022), and our future son (due September 2024)! I have a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies from California Baptist University, a Masters of Education from Hope International University, and have also finished my multiple subject teaching credential program. I’ve been on staff at North Orange since August 2016, loving my role of serving kids and their families!

1. How did you come to faith?

My parents raised me in the church and Jesus has always been a part of my life. From a young age, I knew the Bible stories and knew that I wanted to live my life for God. When I was in 5th grade, I made the decision to be baptized. In my teen years, doubts in my faith started to creep in. But these doubts were an important part of my faith journey as they challenged me to make my faith my own (not just something I was doing because I had always done it). Through some amazing friendships in high school and college and some big life events, I really began to develop a deeper faith. My faith continues to grow daily as I experience the faithfulness of God in all seasons of life—both in the trying seasons of hardship and in the joyful seasons!

2. What brought you to North Orange?

I actually grew up in North Orange Christian Church! My parents were married in our chapel and I grew up in the children’s ministry and youth group here. Maybe a better question for me is: “What has kept you around?!” I LOVE that North Orange is a family. You can’t hide here because people care. People are authentic and are not afraid to just be themselves. North Orange is a community that I am so grateful to be a part of continually.

3. What is your favorite thing about your job?

I love that my job doesn’t even feel like a job. I love what I get to do--interacting with kids, families, and the community on a regular basis! It’s truly an honor to play a role in what God is doing in and through North Orange!

4. What are you passionate about in ministry?

I am passionate about seeing kids discover who God is and who He has created them to be! I love it when I get to see kids apply what they are learning from the Bible to their own lives. Seeing kids discover that God is living and active in their lives and had created each of them for a purpose brings me so much joy! I also love getting to partner with parents in their crucial role as primary faith influence[ers] in their kids’ lives.

5. What is your favorite drink from a coffee shop?

Either black cold brew (nitro is a plus!) or an iced latte with oat milk.

6. Use one word to describe your personality

Dedicated.

7. Beach Day or Snow Day?

Beach Day (preferably a beach with warm water though)!

8. What food do you refuse to eat?

Raw sushi. I got sick the first time I tried it and I’m not willing to risk that again.

9. What is your superpower?

Being a full-time working mom!

1. How did you come to faith?

I came to faith at a young age, in my backyard after having a conversation with my dad.

North Orange was my first choice.
