How We Do It
Since 1979 we have provided shelter, basic necessities, and an environment for mothers in need to learn life skills and, most importantly, about Jesus. We regularly host multiple families in our shelters and have House Managers who meet with each mom for case management, Bible Study, and Godly counsel.
Each family that enters our program has different physical, social, and spiritual needs. We work with each resident, using our Mark IV program, to take them step-by-step through personal development in each of these areas. The program is designed to be modified for each family with some pieces being fixed (i.e. domestic violence awareness training, parenting curriculum, financial accountability) and other pieces being able to flex and change depending on the resident’s personal goals and desires.
Each family begins their time with us at one of our First Step locations – residential homes in Orange County and Riverside County. The program is designed to have them complete First Step in approximately six months. Towards the end of First Step they can apply for our Second Step Program, where they are able to stay in an apartment (we have apartments in Orange County and Riverside County) rent free. The Second Step portion of the program is designed to last approximately six months to one year, depending on the needs of each family.
